About Us


Richard J. Nagel established Best Value Consulting,LLC (BVC) to serve clients for the benefit of veterans and their families assuming the position of Managing Member. He has  a Veterans Administration one hundred percent disability rating from a degenerative neuro muscular condition. This condition has made him aware of the personal and occupational challenges disabled veterans face as they transition to civilian life.
Before establishing Best Value Consulting LLC Rich spent 20 years as President of a multi-million dollar  property-casualty, life and health  insurance agency providing risk management, employee benefits, and insurance programs to small business owners, families, and individuals. He is past President of Risk Management Partners Corporation protecting people, property, and profits of non governmental organizations building civil societies with revenues exceeding 100 million dollars. His expertise is in conducting operational risk  assessment, emergency management, and crisis management response plans and training. He has taught small business management and entrepreneurship as an adjunct instructor at Northern Virginia Community College,(NOVA) and is a graduate of the NOVA Federal Contract Management Program.  He was commissioned from Georgetown Army R.O.T.C. Regular Army in the Medical Service Corps serving as a Platoon Leader, Company Commander, Chief of Ambulatory Care, and Biomedical System Analyst assigned to Tri Service Medical Information Systems (TRIMIS) Army program office for the Composite Health Care System (CHCS). After leaving active duty he joined the United States Army Reserve serving as a Civil Affairs Officer assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division and was deployed during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm .Later he saw duty as an exercise training officer at the Army War College and Joint Forces Command in Emergency Disaster Operations. He served also aboard the USS La Salle as a CIMIC staff officer supporting NATO SACLANT operations in Norfolk, Virginia He retired from the USAR as a Lieutenant Colonel.
